Beach Place, Ostend Beach, Walcott; One of the most popular self catering cottages Norfolk has to offer, Beach Place is a modern, detached 2-bedroom home that directly faces the sea. The beach is literally a stone’s throw away, and whether it’s falling asleep to the sound of the waves, or watching seals and porpoises as you eat breakfast, this is the perfect retreat for your self catering holiday in Norfolk. Located just outside the little seaside village of Walcott, the cottage boasts amazing views along the Norfolk coast and for miles out to sea. It is part of a small cul-de-sac with just five properties and has its own private access road so is very safe and peaceful. The cottage comfortably sleeps 4 people, is pet friendly and offers a full wifi service too.

From May 2025 Beach Place offers, at a nominal fee, Electric Car Charging point at the Car parking space allocated to the house. (please request card before arrival)

A great self catering holiday destination in summer or winter and the ideal location for beach lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and keen walkers; you can stroll for miles and hardly see anyone. It’s a great place to enjoy a relaxing or active holiday and explore Norfolk’s many sites and culture. It’s wonderful at dusk with great light and beautiful sunsets. Enjoy the secluded back garden or frontage overlooking the sea. The property includes a private parking space. Dogs are welcome and allowed all year round on the beach in front of the property.

Stepping through the front door you will find yourself in the bright open plan living space of kitchen and lounge. As you would expect from a self catering cottage the kitchen is fully equipped with oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. The lounge area has a multi channel TV, DVD player, Hi Fi with iPod dock and digital radio. A selection of CDs, DVDs, books and games are provided for your pleasure and the property has broadband. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

Leading from the kitchen and lounge area, the large conservatory, (with a concealed washing machine) this space is perfect for dining or just relaxing, has double French doors out to the secluded terrace and south facing, enclosed garden.

Walk up the stairs to the first floor landing with built in wardrobes, two inviting bedrooms and a modern family bathroom with an over bath shower.

Each room is well proportioned, beautifully presented and enjoys stunning views across the beach and out to sea. The main bedroom benefits from a king sized bed with under-bed storage, bedside cabinets, a set of drawers and a full length mirror. The second bedroom has two single beds (one is 15cm shorter than standard) a bedside table and set of drawers. Bedding and utility towels (hand and tea towels) are included in your stay. Please bring your own bath and beach towels.

Walcott and the Surrounding Area

Walcott is the nearest village and has a convenience store, fish & chip shop and restaurant and two local pubs. The Lighthouse Inn a short walk across the fields is family friendly and provides children’s entertainment throughout the summer months. The Poachers’ Pocket is a 15 minute walk along the beach and has live entertainment some evenings.

The untamed ever-changing beauty of North Norfolk’s coastline, its dramatic landscape, a sanctuary for wildlife, the rich historic appeal of its countryside, charming market towns and picture-postcard villages make this a destination for all seasons. The North Norfolk countryside has a vast number of small lanes and seaside pathways offering varied opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding.

There are a large number of local wildlife, heritage and natural sites including those run by the National Trust, Norfolk Wildlife Trust, English Heritage and the RSPB. If you want the thrill of the funfair and the city lights, Great Yarmouth is a 30 minute drive to the South East. Cromer's historic pier and famous crabs are just up the coast to the west and you're less than half an hour drive from the beautiful broads 'Britain's Magical Waterland'.
