Blakeney Point

Blakeney Point Seal Pup Guided Tour

Saturday 7th December

9:15am at Morston Quay NR25 7BH

Join our experienced coastal Ranger for a ferry boat trip out to see the ever expanding grey seal colony on Blakeney Point, land on the Point to enjoy a guided 2 mile (1 hour) tour around the picturesque landscape of sand dunes to see the colony and the Lifeboat house within the National Nature Reserve. Learn about the history, local wildlife and conservation activity.

Please prepare for all weather, and bring your camera and binoculars.

Children are welcome with an accompanying adult or guardian.

No dogs please, due to conservation area

Ever wondered how past residents of Blickling celebrated Christmas? Come over to our house this December and see beautiful decorations from down the ages and chat with the people who enjoyed them. With a craft fair, gift shop, Christmas food, entertainment and the all important man in the red suit, make Blickling your place to be this festive season.

Entry to house and garden free for National Trust members, normal admission applies to non members. £1 charge for Father Christmas

Brancaster Millennium Activity Centre

Christmas Crackers cookery day

Come to Brancaster Activity Centre for some pre-festive fun. Make some lovely edible gifts for your family and friends. We will make a stunning ginger bread house to be drawn for at the end of the day. Also cook and enjoy a seasonal buffet. Our head cook Amanda has been a professional cook for over 30 years, but with no formal training is flexible in her outlook to all foods and cooking. She always tries to use local and seasonal products.

Wildlife Walks for Photographers

6 December to 8 December 2013,

We will visit a variety of north Norfolk sites where there should be good chances of getting close to wildlife, enabling a variety of photographic techniques to be practised. Weather and tide permitting, one of the highlights will be to visit a Grey Seal colony to see their snowy white pups. After dinner the course tutor, Robin Chittenden, will demonstrate some of the useful functions of Photoshop software.

Felbrigg Hall and Gardens

See the hall decorated to celebrate a 1940’s Christmas. A bygone era brought to life with the help of the Civil Defenders re-enactment group and costumed volunteers

Join us for our annual carol singing out in the courtyard accompanied by the Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band. Refreshments will be on sale so enjoy a mince pie and a glass of warm mulled wine while you sing.

Christmas Treats Workshop

Thursday 5 December

10am – 4pm

Come and join the staff of Oxburgh Hall in creating a number of edible treats. You will be welcomed with tea/coffee followed by a demonstration and workshop on making truffles, gingerbread biscuits and more. Lunch is provided followed by a tour of the Gardens and ending with the opportunity to visit the shop and take home the items you have made.

Festive Foliage Workshop 

Friday 6 December

10am – 4pm

Create your own natural decoration to take home for Christmas, using willow, foliage, nuts and seeds from the estate. Please bring an apron and secateurs. Coffee on arrival, light lunch and afternoon tea included.

Wreath-making Workshop

Enjoy a festive day making your own holly wreath with the expert help of Oxburgh’s gardener. Morning coffee, light lunch and afternoon tea included.  Please bring apron & secateurs.

Meet Santa at Oxburgh

11am – 4pm

Follow the trail to meet Santa in his grotto (tickets available until 3.30pm) Grounds, shop and tea room open as normal 11am to 4pm.

Christmas Choir

On Sunday the Anglian Accents Choir will be performing a free concert in the saloon (12-1pm and 2-3pm). Grounds, shop and tea room open as normal 11am to 4pm.

Get into the Christmas spirit by following a seasonal trail to our learning centre where you will be provided with materials to make wreath or Yule Log to take away.

Post Christmas Walk

Come and join us in the fresh air and burn off some of those extra Christmas calories. Walk off the excesses of Christmas with a relaxing stroll around the Park taking in the natural beauty of the area. Round off the walk with a hot drink and mince pies. Ability to walk up to five miles required.
