Is there any thing better than spending the day on the beach with the sand in between your toes? Norfolk has is a beach for everyone; whether you fancy a bit of rock pooling, energetic kite surfing or just relaxing with an ice cream.
Here are our top tips for spending a day on the beach in Norfolk along with some of our Barn and Beach visitor favourites:
Sun cream – we know we live in a country that doesn’t always have the most sunshine however, even with cloudy weather you can catch the sun.
Games – sandcastles! Who can build the largest most elaborate sand castle is always a good game with children and adults alike. Also take a bat and ball for the odd game of rounders with friends.
Food – a picnic during your day on the beach is always enjoyable. We’ve seen people having picnics on mid winter blustery days – pick things that are easy to eat and with little fuss – a Brays Cottage Norfolk Pork Pie is ideal! Also take lots of drinks in a cool bag.
Taking the dog – if you are planning on taking your dog for your day on the beach be sure the beach you pick allows dogs between May and October. You can find out more about days out with the your dog here.
Rock pooling – the best place for a day on the beach rock pooling has to be West Runton beach. You can find all sorts of sea creatures and perhaps even find some fossils! Be sure to be careful on the slippery rocks though and check for tide times to avoid disappointment!
Norfolk Seals – if you want to see the seals that live around the Norfolk coast line you can either head to Horsey Beach or take a trip out on a boat – either are a lovely different way to spend a day on the beach.
