Autumn; can hardly believe its October in the morn’ Autumn has come quick, after a decent summer 2017 continues to flourish at Barn & Beach the houses are generally busy the B&B not so.

I find the shorter days slow down the footfall for B&B guests and I now have time to kick back and do all of them jobs that have been waiting through summer. the gardens being the main priority this week;

The hedge rows are pruned, the lawns are tidy and I have a lot of colour still in the borders –

The Bed & Breakfast garden possibly looks at its best through October as we have more time to tend and plan this month, the Pekin Bantams certainly feel at home…

The chooks are in moult and the sparrows are collecting the fluffy down feathers, maybe to line their winter nests?
