Fell or Fall

Fell or Fall

Fell or fall? We are into Autumn or Fall (in some parts of the world). The things that inspired my latest blog Fell (a Jack Snipe), he literally fell to earth in the Beach House car park on Friday afternoon…

The Jack Snipe chose a great place to rest, having probably flown in across the North Seas a little fatigue is understandable. A sheltered spot in the warm Autumn sunshine and a few drops of water soon got this beautiful bird back on the wing.

How we all love to travel across the seas or sometimes just to the seaside? The Beach House a great Autumn/Winter destination with its little log burner in the cosy open plan lounge is not a bad place to fall, a place to enjoy all we have on the doorstep the great beach, North Norfolk countryside and the Broads National Park.

We fell upon the small boat yard at Martham Ferry recently, a real gem, a family business with great customer service.

A typical Autumnal afternoon saw sunshine, showers, wind, calm and finished with a deluge. None of this was a big problem as the boat was comfortable, warm and well contained, in fact it made for empty broads and a feeling of true wilderness out on the water.

A pub lunch up at Hickling and a circuitous route back via Horsey Mere made for us a memorable day out.

Fell or Fall? it doesn’t really matter if you can get out and enjoy it all.
