Blickling Estate

A Summer Holiday to remember! Superstar Rocker Cliff Richard returns to the UK with his Midsummer Nights – Still Reelin’ and a-Rockin’ tour. Goatsuckers and Lightning Bugs

Join us for a late one as we go in search of creatures of the night. An evening walk on Weybourne Heath listening for Nightjars and searching for an illuminated insect – the glow worm!

May 25 – June 2 daily, 10am – 4.15pm
There are over 350,000 different species of beetles! Come and learn about them with a fun quiz trail.

Parkrun
Every Saturday 9am
A free weekly 5km event for runners of all standards. A timed fun run offering an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy this beautiful park and get physically active into the bargain. ‘All is Animation – Walk-Talking the Landscape’
Wednesday 19 June, 10.30am-12.30pm
Join Hayden Lorimer (University of Glasgow) and Angus Farquhar (NVA arts organisation) on a guided walk around Sheringham Park, exploring its different landscapes and habitats. On what will be their first visit to the Park, they will use their expertise to offer a fresh perspective on what they see as the key locations and challenges, focusing their attention on how matters of environmental change are being addressed. Participants will be invited to join in conversations about the future of Sheringham Park along the way.
This event is part of a collaborative project called Landscaped Estates of the 1800s: Designs on the Future which involves a temporary ‘twinning’ of Sheringham Park with the Kilmahew Estate in Cardross, Scotland.

Get a step closer to our fantastic collection of Sutton Hoo replicas at an informal talk in our exhibition hall.

Come and meet King Raedwald! He will be on site hollering in Old English. Also, get closer to Anglo-Saxon weaponry in our Out of the Case session (1.30pm-2.30pm).

Summer Solstice
Friday 21 June, 6.30pm-10pm
Sutton Hoo as it should be seen!
Join Time Team’s Dr Sam Newton for a Midsummer Eve talk on the great festivals of the pre-Christian calendar, followed by an Anglo-Saxon inspired dinner and a sunset stroll across the sacred turf of the old royal barrows.
